Autistic Visitors Can Proceed With Lawsuits Against Disney

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that plaintiffs in 30 lawsuits could proceed in a lower court with their claims against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act. A district judge in Florida had ruled prevously that Disney was accommodating the autistic visitors and dismissed the claims in 2016.  The autistic visitors appealed to the court in Atlanta.

Hope Dogali Elected Chair of Board of Directors of The Children's Home, Inc.

Congratulations to DLG Attorney Hope Dogali on being elected to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Children's Home, Inc. Hope has been with the organization for over 15 years. From 2001 through 2013, she was active in and held many positions in The Children's Home Pinellas Auxiliary.  Her involvement included co-chairing the Auxiliary's golf tournament and fashion show committees.  Hope was first appointed to the Board of The Children's home in July 2011. Most recently, she has served the Board as 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, as Chair of the Mission Assurance Committee, as Chair of CHI's annual golf tournament, and as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.  Hope's term as Chair of the Board officially began July 1, 2016, and ended June 30, 2018.

Andy Dogali Appointed as Co-Chair of ABA Subcommittee

DLG Attorney Andy Dogali has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Emerging Issues Subcommittee of the ABA Section of Litigation Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee (ICLC).  Andy's term as Co-Chair will run through August 2016.

Hope Dogali Re-Elected to The Children's Home Board of Directors

DLG Attorney Hope Dogali was re-elected for a 2 year term to the Board of Directors for the The Children's Home. Hope will be serving the board as 2nd Vice Chair.  Hope will also serve as Chair of the Mission Assurance Committee and as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.

Hope Dogali Receives Superhero Award

DLG Attorney Hope Dogali also serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of The Children's Home in Tampa.  At this year's annual golf tournament, on February 23, 2015, Hope was given the first-ever "Superhero" award for her relentless contributions of time, effort, and ideas to the tournament and to its surrounding activities.  This year's tournament raised $100,000 and included a live and silent auction and a banquet for the players, their guests, and the dozens of celebrities who participated.

Philanthropic Service Organization of the Year

The Suncoast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has chosen The Pinellas Auxiliary of The Children's Home, of which both Hope Dogali and Valerie Tolisano are members, to be the recipient of this year's award for:

Philanthropic Service Organization of the Year

Presented to a service organization that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to volunteerism for the benefit of charitable institutions and a commitment to the advancement of philanthropy.

The Auxiliary is being represented for the award at a luncheon on November 13th at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa.  Hope has been a member of the Auxiliary since 2001, also having served as President from 2007-2011 and co-chairing several of the group's annual fundraising events.  Valerie joined in 2003 and is currently serving as Secretary.  Congratulations to this group of hard working ladies!
